Occasionally YDS/DSP undertakes data analysis and customer research to help us understand how we can improve our services or information. On occasion we may engage the use of external agencies/consultants to deliver data analysis and research projects.
Fundraising Activities
We carry out regular, targeted fundraising activities. We will always endeavour to make sure that we share the most appropriate communication and will do so in a way which we believe is relevant, timely and that provides you with an improved donor/ customer experience.
To achieve this, we may occasionally supplement your information with additional publicly available data, profiling tools and / or wealth screening data. This activity assists us in understanding the background of the people who support us and helps us to make appropriate requests to supporters who may have the means and want to give more.

We use our audiences’ and participants’ anonymised details to show some of our funders how and where we’re using their money, and what kind of people are benefiting from our work. For example, as a National Portfolio Organisation, we are obliged to report to Arts Council England about our activities, including postcode and demographic data about participants and audiences.
Sharing your story (Case Studies)
Some people choose to tell us about their experiences of participating in our dance sessions and activities to help us improve the quality and impact of our work. This may include them sharing sensitive information related to their health, age, ethnicity or background in addition to their biographical information. In the event of your giving consent for YDS/DSP to share your personal story, you can request that we change your name in any instance of its publication.
If we have informed consent for how this will be used from the subject of a case study, or from their parent, guardian or carer if they are under 18 or a vulnerable adult, this information may be made public by us at events, in materials promoting our events or fundraising, or in documents such as our annual report.
