A youth dance company that is distinctive to York.

We have a really exciting year coming up with performances in York Minster and York Theatre Royal before christmas! The group meets on Tuesdays, 5.30pm - 7pm throughout the year. Read on for more information about the company and how to get involved!

York Youth Dance will nurture and elevate your technical and performance training, give you invaluable performance experiences and widen your perception of what dance can be beyond studio training. 

We want you to thrive! As a human being and as a mover. A space where you can develop your own individual artistry, quality and movement skills as well as be part of a community of young people who support each other. 

We make performance work! Our usual sessions work towards making full length, professional youth dance choreographies that we perform at various events and platforms. We work like a dance company, learning choreography but also creating collaboratively.  We invest in making 2 - 3 quality pieces and perform between 6 - 8 times across the academic year. Additional workshops and training opportunities throughout the year. 

This group is invite only. we recruit once a year for a cohort who will stay together for the academic year. Dance must come to our Monday evening class or come along to open workshop in July. To register your interest please email yorkdancespace@gmail.com
