Take a look at our weekly programme of creative contemporary dance classes, including youth dance company class for teenagers, boys contemporary dance, toddler and grown up sessions and little movers. Sign up for young people is termly, pay what you decide for the full term.
Expect fun and dynamic dance classes that include contemporary technique, creative play, storytelling, games and performance. We aim to encourage young people to explore their unique way of moving and express themselves in a safe environment. Classes are lead by professional dancers and practitioners.
No dance experience necessary.
What to wear: Comfortable clothes and bare feet. Long hair tied back. Please bring a water bottle with you.

In addition to our weekly classes we run additional workshops and projects throughout the year, especially in the holidays.

York Youth Dance - A contemporary youth dance company for young people 13yrs+
A youth dance company that is distinctive to York.
We make performance work! Meeting once a week, the group works towards making full length, professional youth dance choreographies that we perform at various events and platforms. We work like a dance company, learning choreography but also creating collaboratively. Developing technical and devising skills. Recent projects and platforms include Sadlers Wells - Making Moves, Phoenix Dance Theatres Youth Platform and FRESH.
We want young people to thrive! As a human being and as a mover. A space where young people can develop your own individual artistry and movement skills as well as be part of a community of young people who support each other.
Additional workshops and training opportunities throughout the year.
We never audition. We want this to be an open space where anyone can come along and give it a go whether you're a seasoned dancer or just a passionate mover with no formal training. Every dance pathway is different. Get in touch to discuss joining this group.
